CSO Simtek USMC Kiosk Demo
Commissioned by the US Marine Corps, a scenario was created by CSO Simtek Ltd., using the Close Combat Marines 3 Engine to present a live simulation to be used in the Pentagon in which the USMC and other Arms of the military had "Kiosks" where people could inform themselves about those Services, and potentially attract recruitment.
The video and some background is available in the Features Section

The CCIII Compatibility Updater
The CCIII Compatibility Updater is a utility developed by vonB to provide a seamless, automatic method for making Close Combat III: The Russian Front run correctly on modern Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems
Originally released in 1998 for Windows 95/98, Close Combat III depends on legacy technologies that no longer exist in modern versions of Windows. As a result, the game will not launch without intervention.
The good news is that CCIII runs perfectly once a few adjustments are applied. These can be done manually, but the CCIII Compatibility Updater performs all required steps automatically, leaving you with a fully configured, ready-to-play installation.
Available from the Downloads Page , Compatibility Tab.
A step by step Guide us available from the Articles Page

The Features Page
The Features Page is a place where various Close Combat content will be posted, with no particular theme or thread, just as it comes.
If could be a random screenshot. A notable Legacy Clan narrative. A useful Mod Tool How To. A compelling After Action Report. All I can say is that it will definitely be something to do with Close Combat!

After Actions Reports
A new Section is now open with AAR's or After Action Reports describing the events of battles with images of preparations, Maps, and comments about incidents that took place.
In the first offerings, I have made 2 small AAR's, one of the CCII Trial, and one of a very old action where as Commander I was very badly wounded but survived, and yet managed to destroy a Tank!
By and by I will be adding from my old Archives where I have found a varied collection of AAR's. Usually just a bunch of screenshots with no narrative attached so I have to cobble together some description to go with them. AN interesting wander down memory lane for me, but maybe something you might find interesting.
Especially if I can dig out probably my favourite Mod which is Gross Deutschland 2 for CCIII where I had done quite an in depth series of AAR's, but also one I created which I created to try and recreate the scene from Saving Private Ryan where they assaulted the MG42 position.

My Journey on the About Page
The first chapter of my synopsis of how I became involved with the Close Combat games — both as a gamer and later as a developer — is now available on the About Page.
From discovering CD Gamer in 1979 through to the formation of CSO Simtek Ltd, I give a brief summary of how it all came about. This is something I plan to explore in more intimate detail in a future YouTube VLOG.
It was a truly remarkable experience, and along the way I met some equally remarkable people.
Bit by bit I will add content and media to this site from those times — including maps, mods, how‑to guides, and other odds and ends — so that anyone who is inclined can dive back in and enjoy once again just how excellent this game and veritable simulation is.
Over the years I have collected a huge archive of media, and I would like to leave this as a legacy for anyone who visits.
I hope you find this interesting and useful. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and if I can help, I will.
