The video is a recording of the custom CC demo in action, but is not taken from the system used in the Kiosk at the Pentagon which was integrated with other videos for informational and recruitment purposes.
The US Marine Corps had already decided to use Close Combat as a Squad Level Tactical Decision-making Simulator which they were working on with Atomic Games.
When Atomic Games were no longer able to continue with development, this was taken over by CSO Simtek Ltd., comprised of seasoned and dedicated Close Combat Gamers who had been heavily involved for years
Initially set up through the CSO Clan, the core group formed around key people well known in the Community.
The Creation
To create the demo, a bit of jiggery pokery had to be done, as the native sim AI wouldn't perform to a set 'script' so conveniently, so thanks to the Coding Guru "The Blood" the necessary environment was created where we could generate some set pieces to demonstrate the settings that the USMC were looking for.
This required two of us to be networked. One to handle the crowd and one the Marine Fire Teams so that we could coordinate their behaviour.
This was done in a way so that the events could be replayed, and the programmer could then create a version suitable for deployment in the Kiosk
Creating the demo required effort of all kinds, from graphics, sounds, data, video editing, voice over, and coding, all done by CSO Simtek.
The final release used in the Kiosk was created through the offices of PMTRASYS/MARCORSYSTEMS (to the best of my knowledge) as it incorporated their material in terms of text and video apart from the Close Combat simulation itself and the pretend INN Newsdesk Bulletins that accompanied it which were also done by CSO Simtek.
